Although known nationally and
internationally for the best humpback whale
watching in the world, Hervey Bay has a lot
more to offer its visitors.
Hervey Bay is brimful of history, beauty and
attractions
centred around sheltered waters and some 14
kilometres of golden beaches safe for
children. There is no shortage of things to
do and see - from relaxation on unspoilt
beaches to water sports for those visitors
who are a little more adventurous. The
foreshore of the City offers fourteen
kilometres of shared pedestrian, wheelchair
and bicycle pathways. Along the length of
the foreshore are numerous areas for picnics
and barbecues, as well as children's play
areas, beach hire and public shower and
toilet facilities.

of the best Humpback whale watching is
experienced in Hervey Bay )
-World Heritage listed Fraser Island- enjoy
the naturally beautiful rainforests,
pristine lakes and wildlife on 1, 2, or 3
day 4WD tours of this largest sand island in
the world. You can also see the island by
hiring a four wheel drive vehicle yourself
and seeing this natural wonder at you own
pace.
-Coral viewing, diving and eco tours by
boat.
-Day tours by flight to the Great Barrier
Reef.
-Sailing trips.
-Fishing - both calm water and reef fishing
are available.
-Water sports - a variety of water sports
are available in Hervey Bay including
parasailing and water skiing.

Plenty of good value

the region at most times of the year. The
whale watching season can cause shortages of
accommodation, so it is wise to book early
should you plan to be in Hervey Bay at that
time.
